NBM from 10 AM

Check FBC / U&E /LFTs. Coag screen if risk factors for bleeding

Risk factors for bleeding

–Anticoagulant therapy

–Evidence of liver disease

–History, family history or physical evidence of bleeding tendency

Written consent to be obtained on the ward (needs training first)

Cannula to be sited prior to procedure

Provide information leaflet (EIDO – can be found on the intranet)
